Parish Education

Religious education holds a vital role in the spiritual formation of our children and adults. It provides them with an invaluable opportunity to grow in their faith, deepen their understanding of Catholic teachings, and develop a personal relationship with God.


PARISH SCHOOL OF RELIGION (PSR)
While Catholic schools offer a comprehensive religious curriculum, we recognize that not all families are able to enroll their children in these institutions. Through our Parish School of Religion, children are exposed to the fundamental tenets of our faith, such as the life and teachings of Jesus, the sacraments, the importance of prayer, and the significance of Christian virtues. They learn about the Scriptures and the wisdom contained within, allowing them to comprehend and apply these teachings in their daily lives.

ORDER OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS  
The OCIA Journey of Faith is an ongoing process of prayer, study, discussion, and celebration for unbaptized adults or children who wish to learn more about the Catholic faith and possibly become full members of the Catholic family. For more information, please visit our OCIA page.



SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION
Holy Family Parish offers sacramental preparation for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation. The Diocese of Baton Rouge requires participation in a religious education program for a minimum of two consecutive years prior to receiving a sacrament. 

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Each summer, Holy Family Church hosts a week-long VBS in a supportive and joyful environment for children to learn about Jesus' teachings. Through games, crafts, music, and lessons, they'll discover God's love and forge lasting friendships. Learn more on our Vacation Bible School page.
